What retatrutide is
Retatrutide hits three gut and metabolic hormone receptors instead of tirzepatide's two. Early Phase 2 data showed average weight loss of around 24% at 48 weeks at the highest dose — meaningfully better than tirzepatide. That is genuinely exciting.
Why waiting is usually the wrong call
- Retatrutide is not approved anywhere yet. Phase 3 read-outs are pending and regulatory review usually takes 12–24 months after that.
