Five questions to ask any UAE doctor before they prescribe a weight loss medication

1. Who is the prescribing physician and where are they licensed?

You should be able to see the doctor's name and the UAE health authority they are registered with, before you pay anything.

2. How are dose changes made, and how often?

Good answer: every two to four weeks based on tolerance and progress. Bad answer: a fixed schedule with no review.

3. What is included in the price?

Medication, follow ups, dose adjustments, blood work where relevant. Anything billed separately should be disclosed up front.

4. Where is the medication sourced and how is it stored?

Licensed UAE pharmacy partner, cold chain end to end. Anything less is a red flag.

5. What happens if I want to stop?

There should be a written tapering and maintenance plan. Stopping abruptly without a plan tends to undo the results.
