How MOTS-C works

MOTS-c is a 16 amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded within the MT-RNR1 gene of mitochondrial DNA. It acts as a metabolic regulator, enhancing AMPK signaling, increasing insulin sensitivity, improving glucose disposal in skeletal muscle, and shifting the body toward fat oxidation as a fuel source. Clinical and preclinical research shows MOTS-c can counter age-related metabolic decline and improve exercise capacity.
